Rotary Club of Asheville Qult Show
Every August the Asheville Quilt Guild has a showing of their members' beatiful handmade quilts.

Thousands of quilters from around the country (as well as tourists and local residents) go to their quilt show at the NC Arboretum to see their handiwork.

On the same weekend the Rotary Club of Asheville holds a show for various quilting vendors and suppliers to offer their wares to the thousands of hobby quilters that come to our community to attend the AQG display.

Proceeds from our quilt show help fund many of our club's community projects, such as HonorAir and Habitat Houses, as well as organizations such as MANNA food bank. More info: HERE
This year Dick Hall is once again heading up this project, but he is looking for a co-leader who will be able to shoulder some of the burden, and be ready to steo up and lead the effort in 2011. Dick and his yet-to-be-named co-leader will be looking for a number of volunteers for the following tasks:
1. Negotiate with the Biltmore Square Mall for space and prices. The amount of space we get will determine how many vendors we can have.
2. Get contracts out to vendors and follow up with then for returning the contracts and paying their deposits.
3. Arrange to borrow frames from which quilts will be hung for display.
4. Lay out all spaces and ailse of the show to maximize the amonut of revenue while still offering good exposure to vendors.
5. Arrange to rent/borrow tables and chairs for the spaces (1 table and 2 chairs provided for each 100 square foot space).
6. Arrange for publicity for the show.
7. Arrange for utility service start-up and end for the show,
8. Set up show (both Rotary displays and assisting vendors with setup).
9. Manning the show itself - selling tickets to attendees at the door and collecting any pre-sold tickets.
10. Tear-down and cleanup of rented spaces at Biltmore Square Mall.

The quilt show can be our club's second-largest fundraising event, but only if we all get behind it and support Dick and his co-leader.
